Economy of the Common Good as an ethical economic model – Balance sheet of Struck-Leuchten GmbH & Co. KG

“The value of companies in Germany is unfortunately only measured by the indicator earning power, regardless of what ecological-social footprint they leave behind.”  Markus Struck, Managing Director

“Common Good Economics” refers to an accounting system that builds on common good-promoting, ethical values such as human dignity, solidarity, justice, transparency and shared decision-making as much as on ecological sustainability. The purpose of economic activity and the evaluation of entrepreneurial success are defined on the basis of these values and made visible with the help of a points system, the GWÖ Matrix.

Being a family business that is to be led into the third generation, a sustainable and responsible approach to “people and nature” is one of the cornerstones of our daily actions. Our Sedex certificate, obtained in 2016, is already proof of this.

Therefore, we were glad to participate in this audit, which documents what we have achieved so far and points out further potentials. Our results can be found in the attached report.
